LOVE

Hello,

This is what I have been doing lately  (one of the reasons why I shifted back to Bangalore :P) . Designing for this new clothing brand bhane. along with two super awesome designers who are based in Delhi. What I like most about the image is its - minimal & no drama,  yet chic look. Photographed by the famous Indie street blogger Manou of Wearabout and styled by Tania Fadte.

My dear Dilli dosts, come by and say  Hello to the us this weekend :) for the rest of the world - be patient till the online launch of the brand. Must have a bhane. product to complete your Christmas shopping.

I have to get back to work now & finish the spring collection before I break for Goa to welcome 2013.

Oh !!! before I say goodbye, I have to tell you that I'm going for the GnR concert in Bangalore .......... Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay !!!! So my next post will be about music, Axl Rose & his rusted voice ( Annie, my friend have coined the word rusted voice, she is the female version of Slash !)

I will keep you posted  about the brand & band !
Bye !!!

xoxo

The Northern Diary

Day 1 , reached Delhi late night , stuffed myself with this hauntingly yummy 'strawberry tart'. This place is in GK II, E-block. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, I was exhausted by the time I reached Delhi. They also serve  yummy ice-cream, I tried a little-bit from my friend.

Day-2, landed in Chandigarh at around 11.30 am & immediately headed towards Baddi to source fabrics from a well-known mill -Vardhman. On the way I saw this PINK-grey auto ( good sense of color ;) , popularly known as 'tuk-tuk' over there.

On the way back from the mill to the hotel located at Chandigarh-Shimla highway. Thats Radhika , a friend & colleague lost in the nature outside .

Touching the borders of the different states ( himachal pradesh, punjab, haryana & chandigarh )

Chandigarh - Shimla highway.

The Candy-man, @ Chandigarh Sector 17 market.

Radhika's vintage saga, a fabulous pick-up from the sec.-17 market.

Traditional hand-done Phulkari embroidered  fabric picked up from the same market.

Day-3, Chandigarh - Ambala highway, Car broke down :(

Yes , Spring is here !  Do you get the feel of ZARA s's 11 collection when you see this pic? Or UCB s's 11 ??? Color-Blocking is a major trend for coming summer.

Day 4, went to GK I , M-block market to have yummy 'MOMOS' from Cafe Brown Sugar. Do try the wheat momos if you are a health freak. This adorable dog caught my attention while I was enjoying the Brunch at the cafe.

Street-fashion, Sarojini market, Delhi

And finally, the most awaited part of the entire trip. This is the famous 'PARANTHA Wali GALI' in Delhi. All the foodies & parantha lovers SHOULD go and taste the NIMBU parantha....SLURPPPP !!!! I will stop here ....won't write any further....OK.  Now my mouth is watering....All thanks to Maali...for treating us with the most authentic & heavenly paranthas of the world.

p.s.  Parantha = stuffed Indian bread ( as defined by a foodie, a cook & a good friend -Darla )

SHOE MANIA

Once, I read somewhere - ' Shoes reflect the true personality of a man.' A dress is never complete without a pair of nice & comfortable shoes. And I love shoes. Fashionable, good looking, shoes. With a little bit of  bling here & there, some studded, some strapped, I just love shoes. But the irony is, I hardy find shoes which fits me perfectly  :[ ( forget about being fashionable & branded). I have tiny feet & its really difficult to get the right size. Most of the time I end up loitering around the kids section looking for a good , not kiddish looking pair. Whenever & wherever I find one , with the right fit, I pick up, ignoring the price. And there are times when I have picked a wrong size , consciously to satisfy my alter ego.

During my holiday in Delhi, my target was to hand pick a few good pairs , for the coming spring. I had high hopes on Zara, ALDO, Nine west and a couple of other brands. But my dreams were shattered , when I got to know that Zara (India) starts from size 36 only :[ I'm sure there are lots of Fashion Conscious Indians with below 36 foot size. Where do they find a good pair?? Custom made? Or do they shop from fancy stores abroad? I  assume they opt for the last. Disappointedly, I managed to find one last pair each in ZARA & Muah ( size 35) which fits me. Then, I came back to my lovely city - Bangalore & ended up in another round of shopping. I bought a pair of black thong ankle strap sandals from Marie Claire (Bata), which I adore. Its a direct rip-off from one of the famous brand ( Anthropologie , I'm not too sure, I saw the design long back in WGSN Trend search engine). The black-suede-studded pair was picked up during my HK trip in 2010. I didn't struggle to find a good pair for myself there. And guess what, there was a special tag attached to most of the shoes/sandals of size 35. It says - Special Size for Asia. That's really sweet & thoughtful. I wish shopping in India was such easy & sweet, specially finding a pair of shoes for myself ..looks like a distant dream. With this dream in my heart, I'm off for tonight. Happy week ahead to all, work hard & party harder.
Love,
Poppins

The sacred brooch

The below double-heart brooch is a gift from a friend of mine. At first, I liked the concept of two hearts attached to each other, later when I google-d MIZPAH , I was amazed ( honestly, I didn't know what it meant earlier). This is an awesome piece of art from J.W. Anderson. I'm totally in love with this & love my friend for such an wonderful gift.

The lord watch between me and thee,
When we are absent one from another.

the above picture is taken by me & cannot be re-used anywhere without my permission :)
